Buying items I know will be collectables...why can't I resist opening them!?

I'm constantly buying up hard to find items, whether it's daft punk, or tron, or other items I know will be valuable or have value in the resale marketplace. The issue is I just can't find myself staring at a sealed package! I end up with toys all over my desk.

Just a few minutes ago Desi came in and pointed out a link to one of the top collectable sites online where they were selling the complete set of 4 Tron figures for $200 ! ! ! ! I got my Tron stuff from Target after waiting for the price/hype to come down for under $30.

Can you smack me on the back of the head please? Am I alone?!

You're def not alone. You only live once. Get things you like and do what you want with them. Keeping things in boxes is boring. Respect what you've got though!

i dont know, "collectibles" these days are just a fad. Tickle Me Elmo, Cabbage Patch Kids, Beanie Babies, Vanilla Ice, even your precious Tron (for the record i Love Tron) will or have gone down in value dramatically in time. as Seanny mentioned, you live once. enjoy what you own instead of hoping it will become valuable. you may end up disappointed 10 years down the road when your beanie babies are selling for 99¢ in the bargain bin.

I have stuff like that, and I want to open it so bad, but I know that if I need to sell it one day, it'll be worth more unopened. But there are some things you just have to open and play with!! Seanny is right, you only live once. Besides, if you died tomorrow and you hadn't opened anything , you would die getting no pleasure out of it. Better one day then none.
And even better on day one, than one day!
OH OH!! I just thought of something i could post up in here! lol.. ok so speaking of stuff you can't open.. I got this is a Coca-Cola Barbie as a gift..maybe like 3 years ago. On the box it says its from the "90's. so its not that old. but it wasn't opend in the 90's, and its not gonna be open now lol! I'm the kinda person where , looking at it sit up there on my shelf brings me happines or just holding it in my hands makes me happy lol :-) AYE!, come to think of it!..i have a FEW things that aren't open & dresses & shoes that still have tags on em. lol..thats just me though. ok im done. xox!

No no, not alone there that's for sure. I'm also an idiot who opens things like that, a KISS (Ace) action figure, and a Dementor (Harry Potter). I know they aren't rare or hard to find, but that's actually a good thing, since I can't resist opening anything, really. And now.... They're covered in dust and Ace's hair is all jacked up.

I take the time now to think about that sort of thing before I even buy something, and because of that haven't purchased anything that SHOULD stay in the package for quite a while. I've learned the hard way to stick with shoes, stockings, condoms, basically any item that require opening to be enjoyed.

OPEN IT! lol
