I'll admit it, and I'll admit it loud and proud, I'm retro, really retro actually.

And the best part of being retro at this time is that I'm no longer alone in my little retro world. I'm seeing it everywhere, and it's brilliant.

When I say everywhere, I mean in DVD releases (Thundercats, Back To The Future Box Sets), comic book revivals (IDW have brought new life into Ninja turtles and Ghostbusters), even fashion.

Before reading the rest of this post, you need to know a little more about me. I am an 80's child and am obsessed with this era, but I am also highly influenced by my parents' nostalgia. So, anything from 60's to 80's is what I look out for. When I say obsessed with the 80s, I really mean it. I don't and never have owned an ipod or any other MP3 Player. I have and still use my Sony Walkman, which was the newest thing to me back in 1989. On with seeing retro everywhere. 

Last year I noticed, particularly in fashion, a comeback of the 1940s style dresses. I thought that was an interesting style to bring back, but it didn't really do it for me.

This year, jackets, trousers, and even shoes are being designed in 60's to 80's styles. 2012 is going to be the best retro year so far, unless you like other eras to me, then you'll have to wait until next year. But if you're equally excited about these new styles in fashion, then I've found some great goodies to share. There's a great 60's style leather jacket from Asos, that reminds me of the cover of my parents' Beatles vinyl Sergeant Pepper, that I'm just dying to get my hands on it. Another great find for me and any other shoe-aholic out there, are the return of bright colours to footwear, which is very 80s to all you who like different retro. Best yet, these colours are being applied to the classic stiletto heel, which you could always see in any decent 80s film. This pair (see image) reminds me so much of Janine from Ghostbusters that they always make me smile when I put them on.

So, in a nutshell, seeing retro everywhere is brilliant, because it puts me in a good mood. Here are just some examples of the things that remind me of my retro eras. How about sharing some examples of your own? What items really bring back the memories of your retro era? I'd love to know.
